Actions that Faculty can Take:

  • Research Choices. Choose projects & partnerships that avoid implicit support of regimes with poor human rights records.

  • Monitoring and Reporting. Participate in committees that monitor human rights practices of international partners and report findings back to inform administrative decision-making.

  • Student Advising. Advise students about the implications of studying/working in countries with poor human rights records.

  • Professional Associations and Networks. Work within societies, associations, and committees that are committed to ethical practices in higher education

  • Seminars, Conferences, and Events. Invite speakers, guest lecturers, and organize panels to discuss issues related to ethical academic practices.
